Danielle Riesz is an award-winning pastry chef known for her specialty cakes, confections, and other desserts created for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events!
As the owner of Wildflour Sweets, Pastry Chef Danielle Riesz has always had a talent for making all things sweet. At an early age Danielle grew up in a family owned and operated restaurant and motel in upstate New York where she developed a feel for all aspects of the hospitality industry. It was here that Danielle discovered her passion for making desserts.
After graduating Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts, Danielle continued to train abroad in the Netherlands for a Relais & Chateau property as well as a Michelin star rated restaurant.
From there, she went on to work in New York before joining the prestigious, 5 star, 5 diamond properties of the Four Seasons Hotels including Jackson Hole, Washington D.C., Dallas and San Francisco. “Working for the Four Seasons Hotels gave me the experiences and training I needed to pursue my career, they taught me discipline, strength and a valuable skill set I could take with me anywhere.”
Determined to get back to the mountains after 8 years with the Four Seasons Hotels, Danielle moved to Aspen Colorado in 2010, and joined The Little Nell Hotel as the Executive Pastry Chef. She brought her creativity and finesse to the 5 star, 5 diamond, Relais & Chateau Resort, and quickly became known for her signature desserts and cakes in the valley. Danielle’s talents led her to contributing in the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, as well as appearing on a local TV station, and being published in local newspapers and magazines for her sweet creations.
Opting for even more wide open spaces, Danielle moved to Crested Butte, Colorado in late 2014 and started her own business, Wildflour Sweets. Here, Danielle’s dreams soar to new heights, allowing her to create specialty cakes and desserts for weddings, and other events, as well as show her skills at the farmer's market each Sunday from June through October. Danielle’s cakes and confections are available throughout Colorado, including Crested Butte, Gunnison, Aspen, Vail & Breckenridge, including all points in between.
